Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday directed officials to implement the Family Benefit Management System (FBMS) by treating every household in Andhra Pradesh as a single administrative unit. Chairing a review meeting on FBMS at the Secretariat, the Chief Minister said the system must be designed to strengthen family empowerment and bring all welfare schemes and citizen services under one integrated framework.
The government plans to introduce a Smart Family Card, which will consolidate comprehensive information related to each family and its members. This card will serve as a unified access point for welfare benefits, eligibility verification, and service delivery across departments. The CM instructed officials to issue QR code enabled Smart Family Cards to all 1.4 crore households in the state by June next year.
The card will store nearly 25 categories of information, including Aadhaar details, vaccination records, caste certificates, nutrition data, ration card information, scholarships, pensions, and scheme-specific benefits. He emphasized that FBMS must not be confined to just pensions or ration services, but should include all citizen-related data to support comprehensive governance.
The Smart Family Card, he said, will help overcome challenges in beneficiary identification and ensure that eligible citizens receive all entitled schemes without delay. The CM urged officials to ensure continuous data updates through the Swarnandhra Vision Units operating in urban and rural areas. He directed that the Smart Family Card be designed to provide access to all government services through a single platform, integrating Aadhaar and all other essential data. Complete data compilation must be finished by January 2026,he said, with distribution of the cards scheduled for June.
