SP Shukla sworn in as Guv of Telangana

In a formal ceremony held at Lok Bhavan on Wednesday, Shiv Pratap Shukla officially assumed charge as the Governor of Telangana. The oath of office was administered by the Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court, Aparesh Kumar Singh.

The event was attended by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, and Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao. Other notable attendees included Director General of Police B. Shivdhar Reddy, along with various Ministers, MPs, and MLAs. Governor Shukla succeeds Jishnu Dev Varma, who has been reassigned to serve as the Governor of Maharashtra following a recent reshuffle by the Central Government.

With a distinguished political career spanning nearly forty years, Governor Shukla brings extensive experience to the role. He has served as a four time member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly and held the position of Minister of State for Finance during the first term of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He was also a member of the Rajya Sabha.

Following the ceremony, the Governor received congratulations and best wishes from the gathered leaders and officials as he begins his tenure in Telangana.
