A video went viral showing French President Emmanuel Macron’s wife Brigitte pushing his face away as they deplaned in Vietnam on Sunday evening.

COKE OUT OF BAG?

Earlier this month France dismissed as “fake news” a viral claim that Macron hid a bag of cocaine while posing for a photograph during a trip to Kyiv with German Chancellor Merz and UK PM Starmer.

LAUGHING IT OFF

Macron's office initially denied the incident, before downplaying it on Monday as a “moment of togetherness”. Macron later said they were simply joking around. "We are horsing around and, really, joking with my wife... It becomes a sort of geo-planetary catastrophe," he said.

BIZARRE MOMENT

- The short clip shows the aircraft door opening with Macron appearing in the doorway. Brigitte's arms then emerge as she places both hands on her husband's face and gives it a shove.

- Macron appears momentarily surprised but quickly regains his composure and waves to the press outside.

 -She remains concealed by the aircraft body, making it impossible to see her facial expression or body language.

- As they descend the steps, Macron offers Brigitte his arm, which she does not take, opting instead to hold the railing.
