Minister for IT and Industries Duddilla Sridhar Babu on Tuesday performed the Bhoomi Puja (foundation ceremony) for the JSW UAV facility being established under JSW Defence at Maheshwaram EMC with an investment of Rs 850 crore. The program was attended by Parth Jindal and MLA Malreddy Ranga Reddy.

The JSW group is building a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at EMC Maheshwaram. Spread over 16 acres, the facility will house production, repair, testing, administrative, and support infrastructure. Designed as a Net Zero facility in line with JSW’s sustainability goals, it will have the capacity to manufacture 300 VBAT drones annually, with provisions for scaling up based on demand. Trial production will begin by the end of 2026.

This project will create over 300 high-value jobs and serve as a symbol of Indo-US collaboration, positioning India as a global leader in advanced unmanned aerial systems and defense innovation.
