District Collector Kumar Deepak has issued a strong warning that departmental action will be taken against anyone who harasses farmers at government-designated paddy procurement centers. On Wednesday, the Collector visited paddy procurement centers set up at Mulkal, Namnoor and Rapalli villages in Hajipur Mandal and reviewed the ongoing procurement operations. Speaking on the occasion, Collector Kumar Deepak directed officials to accelerate the paddy procurement process.

He instructed them to procure only good quality paddy from farmers strictly as per government norms. Highlighting the threat of unseasonal rains, the Collector ordered that procured paddy should be immediately stored in identified godowns and later transported to the allotted rice mills without delay. He emphasized that the procurement process must be carried out smoothly so that farmers do not face any inconvenience.

Officials were asked to create awareness among farmers to bring clean paddy that meets quality standards after proper cleaning. The Collector also noted that the government has permitted farmers this season to bring paddy to procurement centers using tractors and urged them to make full use of this facility.
