222 students awarded degrees at NIPER convocation

Hyderabad: The 13th Convocation Ceremony of the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Hyderabad, was held on Saturday at the Institute Auditorium. The ceremony was graced by the Guest of Eminence Prof. Durg Singh Chauhan, Former Vice-Chancellor of Uttarakhand Technical University and Uttar Pradesh Technical University and Former Member of UGC, along with Dr. Murali Ramachandra, Chief Executive Officer, Aurigene Oncology Limited.

Welcoming the gathering, Prof. Shailendra Saraf, Director, NIPER Hyderabad, highlighted that in just 18 years, the Institute has emerged as a centre of excellence in pharmaceutical education and research, a progress reflected in its 5th rank in the NIRF. He also noted during the past year, the Institute organized several academic and outreach initiatives.

Addressing the graduates, Dr. Murali Ramachandra, congratulated the students and emphasized the importance of continuous learning, adoption of artificial intelligence and regular upskilling to remain relevant in a rapidly evolving scientific landscape.  Prof. Durg Singh Chauhan spoke on the core values of education, emphasizing truth (Satyam), knowledge, and well-being (Arogyam) as essential pillars for individual fulfillment and national progress.  He also urged students and educators to uphold discipline, clarity of thought, and lifelong learning in their academic and professional journeys.

 During the convocation, a total of 222 students were awarded degrees, including 28 Ph.D. scholars and 194 students from M.S. (Pharm.), M.Tech. (Pharm.), and M.B.A. (Pharm.) programs. Further, the Institute congratulated all the graduating students and gold medal recipients for their exemplary academic achievements, expressing confidence that they would make significant contributions to academia, industry, research, and healthcare sectors in India and abroad.
