Hyderabad: Hyderabad police arrested two drug peddlers near Gate-II of ICRISAT Phase-2, Krishna Nagar, Old Bowenpally, and seized 1,770 grams of hash oil and a mobile phone, together valued at Rs 8.95 lakh.

The accused were identified as Sahoo Sonu (31), a fruit vendor from Anjaiah Nagar, and Bandari Ravi Teja (20), a Flipkart delivery boy from LB Nagar. Both have prior cases under the NDPS Act registered at Bowenpally and Alwal police stations.

According to officials, the duo, along with absconding accused Giri, are habitual users of narcotic substances. Giri sourced ganja and hash oil from agency areas in Andhra Pradesh and supplied it to them. Despite previous arrests, the trio continued their illegal activities. Unable to afford hash oil for personal use, Sonu and Ravi Teja decided to procure it in bulk from Giri’s contact, Rajesh (also absconding), and sell it in small quantities for profit. They were caught red-handed while waiting to sell the contraband.

The operation was led by Inspector A. Nagarjuna of the East Zone Task Force, with Sub-Inspectors M. Anantha Chary, P. Nagaraju, and S. Karunakar Reddy, in coordination with Bowenpally Police.
