Tech Sprint draws 90 teams

Hackathon inaugurated at St. Peter’s Engineering College

St. Peter’s Engineering College in Hyderabad launched the national-level 24-hour hackathon, ‘TechSprint 2K26’, on Friday, October 9, with 90 teams from engineering colleges across the country participating. Organised by the Elecspire Club of the Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) Department, the event concludes on October 10. The hackathon aims to encourage students to develop technological solutions aligned with the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Ms. Rashi Srivastava attended as Chief Guest, while Dr. Naveen Vadde was the Guest of Honour. College Secretary and Correspondent T. V. Reddy, Academic Director T. Saroja Reddy, Administrative Director T. Anuraag Reddy, Principal K. Venkata Rao, Vice-Principal K. Prasanna Kumar and EEE Department Head K. Amaresh were among those present. The guests encouraged students to leverage emerging technologies to address real-world problems. 

During the 24-hour competition, teams will identify problems, develop solutions, build technological prototypes and test them. The exercise is expected to strengthen participants’ technical knowledge, teamwork, time management, problem-solving and creative thinking. The organisers thanked sponsors Dharma Sethu, Rotaract Club of Emerald Hyderabad and DS Cloth Store for supporting the event. They said TechSprint 2K26 seeks to nurture young innovators, promote fresh ideas and contribute to a sustainable future.
