‘Teeparru to be developed as model village for Pushkaralu’

Andhra Pradesh Minister for Tourism, Culture and Cinematography Kandula Durgesh announced on Friday that Teeparru village in the Nidadavolu Assembly constituency will be developed into a model Pushkar village, while its river ghat will be transformed into a model ghat, in preparation for the 2027 Godavari Pushkaralu. The initiative will be undertaken with the support of Tadekam Foundation. As part of the initiative, the Minister will inaugurate the "Maa Godavari Sankalp" program at Teeparru village. on Saturday, July 11.

Representatives of Tadekam Foundation said detailed plans have been prepared to transform Teeparru Ghat into a model riverfront. Working in coordination with various government departments and with the support of the Central Government institution NEERI (National Environmental Engineering Research Institute), the project aims to make the village plastic-free and pollution-free. Planned activities include restoration of the village pond, removal of invasive aquatic weeds and launching a campaign against the use of plastic, including eliminating flex banners from the village.

The foundation also announced plans to establish two selfie points under the theme "I Love Godavari – Maa Teeparru" for pilgrims and tourists. Around 25 homestays are proposed to promote rural tourism and improve accommodation facilities. Under the broader initiative titled "Maa Godavari Sankranti-2027," the foundation plans to focus on the development of other Godavari riverfront locations, including Mukkamala, Mukteswaram, Kundaleswaram and Kovvur, using Teeparru as a model.

Organisers informed that Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan is expected to review the progress of the project during Kartika Pournami on November 24, while Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is expected to inspect the works in January 2027. They also appreciated Minister Kandula Durgesh for his initiative and support in developing Teeparru Ghat, noting that Tadekam Foundation has been engaged in social service activities since 2014. Minister Kandula Durgesh stated that the government is committed to conduct the 2027 Godavari Pushkaralu on a grand scale.

He assured that several ghats in the Nidadavolu constituency would be beautified and equipped with all necessary amenities to ensure a comfortable experience for devotees. He further expressed confidence that before the commencement of the 2027 Godavari Pushkaralu, Teeparru would emerge as a model village that reflects Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan's vision of a "Clean Godavari – Sacred Pushkaralu" at the grassroots level.
