Telangana Tourism, in collaboration with The Culinary Lounge, inaugurated the Telangana Culinary Heritage Walk, a story-driven exploration of the state’s rich food culture.
The inaugural walk began in Hyderabad’s Old City, bringing together ten participants for a 2.5-hour journey through historic sites, iconic eateries, and traditional culinary practices.
Designed for travelers seeking depth and food enthusiasts eager to understand history through cuisine, the walk highlights Telangana’s vibrant gastronomic heritage.
Valluru Kranthi, Managing Director of Telangana Tourism Development, said, ‘The historical culinary heritage of the Deccan, reflecting its cultural diversity, is being promoted by the department. Through these walks, we aim to showcase the variety of Hyderabad’s food to the public.'
The walk began at Hotel Nayaab with a welcome chai and lukmi, offering insights into paya and nihari traditions. A stop at Jai Hinglaj Maa Snacks Point allowed participants to sample jalebi and kachori while enjoying views of the High Court, reflecting the city’s North Indian culinary influences.
