6 terrorists, 7 cops killed in Pak training centre attack

An intense five-hour gun battle erupted at the Ratta Kulachi Police Training School in Dera Ismail Khan district, northwestern Pakistan, resulting in the deaths of six terrorists and seven police personnel. 

The attack was initiated late Friday night when militants rammed an explosives-laden truck into the main gate, causing a massive explosion before gunmen in various uniforms stormed the compound.Security forces, including SSG commandos and Elite Force, quickly retaliated and surrounded the attackers. Three terrorists were initially neutralized, with three more killed during a late-night clearance operation, bringing the total to six eliminated. In the exchange of fire and grenade attacks, seven police personnel were killed and 13 were injured. 

Officials confirmed the successful evacuation of approximately 200 trainees and staff members to secure locations. Security forces recovered suicide vests, explosives, and modern weapons. 

The Inspector General of Police for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province confirmed the area has been completely cleared, and a search operation is underway to eliminate any remaining threat. 

The IGP also paid tribute to the fallen officers and announced rewards for the personnel who conducted the successful operation.
