TGEJAC leaders urge CM to resolve long pending issues

Telangana Employees Joint Action Committee (TGEJAC) Chairman V. Lachi Reddy and Secretary General Odnala Rajasekhar on Thursday met Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and urged him to resolve the long-pending problems of government employees and teachers without delay.

During the meeting, the employee leaders placed before the Chief Minister key demands including implementation of the Pay Revision Commission (PRC) recommendations, release of pending Dearness Allowance (DA) instalments, abolition of the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) and restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS), along with other service-related issues affecting employees and teachers across the state.

The Chief Minister responded positively to the representation. He assured the delegation that the issues would be discussed in detail at a meeting scheduled for next Monday and that the government would take the necessary steps to implement demands relating to PRC, DA, CPS and other pending matters. TGEJAC leaders welcomed the Chief Minister’s favourable response.

They said the organisation would continue its efforts until the legitimate demands of employees and teachers were fulfilled. The delegation that met the Chief Minister also included Telangana Teachers Association (TGTA) President S. Ramulu, General Secretary Paka Ramesh, Telangana Revenue Services Association (TGRSA) President Banala Ramreddy and Grama Palana Officers Association of Telangana (GPOATG) leader Garike Upendra Rao.

The meeting comes amid ongoing talks between employee unions and the government over wage revision, pending allowances and pension policy. Employee organisations have been pressing for early decisions, arguing that delays have caused hardship to staff and pensioners. TGEJAC said it would persist with dialogue and agitation if required until the assurances given by the Chief Minister are translated into action.
