The Telangana Tahsildars Association (TGTA) has urged the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Telangana, to ensure the immediate release of funds for the payment of enhanced remuneration and honorarium to election personnel engaged in electoral roll revision activities.
In a representation submitted to the CEO, TGTA welcomed the Election Commission of India's decision to enhance remuneration for Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and Supervisors and to provide honorarium to Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) for the first time in connection with the preparation of electoral rolls and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) programme.
The association pointed out that the revised remuneration for BLOs and Supervisors for the year 2025 to 26 has not yet been released in Telangana. It requested the State authorities to immediately sanction and disburse the pending payments, including the Special Incentive of ₹12,000 approved for BLOs participating in the SIR exercise.
TGTA also appealed for the sanction of a one month special honorarium for EROs and AEROs involved in the SIR programme, similar to the honorarium paid during Assembly and Parliamentary elections. The association further requested the allocation of the required budget to implement the revised payment structure without delay.
TGTA President S. Ramulu expressed hope that the demands would be considered promptly to support election personnel performing crucial electoral duties.
