Two held for chain snatching in Jubilee Hills

The Jubilee Hills Police Station apprehended two persons involved in a chain-snatching incident reported on the morning of February 17, 2026, and recovered a 1 tola (approximately 10 grams) gold chain, a motorcycle and mobile phones.

The accused have been identified as Chesetti Revathi (33) and Giddala Narendra alias Nani (23), both residents of Sanath Nagar, Hyderabad. The case has been registered as Crime No. 97/2026 under Section 304(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

According to police, the incident occurred around 9:30 am when the complainant, Kadapala Manasa, was walking from her hostel to her office, Vestrics Solutions, near Road No. 44, Jubilee Hills. The accused allegedly approached her on a Suzuki Access 125 motorcycle (AP39BF9269), with Narendra riding and Revathi as pillion. After identifying the gold chain worn by the victim, Revathi reportedly snatched it while Narendra positioned the vehicle for a quick escape. The duo fled immediately after committing the offence.

During investigation, police recovered the stolen gold chain, the motorcycle used in the crime and two mobile phones, including an Oppo handset linked to the case.

Police have advised citizens to remain vigilant, especially during early morning and late-night hours, and to avoid isolated areas. People are urged to report suspicious movements by dialling 100 or contacting the nearest police station.

The case is under investigation by Jubilee Hills police officials under the supervision of senior officers of the West Zone, Hyderabad.
