Bachupally Police nabbed two notorious accused persons in bike theft cases and recovered six two-wheelers worth Rs 4 lakh from them. Arrested persons have been identified as Ongolu Ramesh Babu (27) and Chandramolu Gundappa (24), both the accused persons are residents of Suraram of Quthubullapur mandal and working as delivery boys.
On January 23, Police received a complaint from K Mahesh, an IT Employee and resident of Kousalya colony, Bachupally in which he stated that he posted an advertisement in OLX about selling his two wheeler bike. On the same day, he received a call from an unknown person and stated that he is interested in buying the said bike, so the complainant shared his house address. When he showed his bike, the said person took the bike test ride and fled away.
On February 2 while the crime staff of the Bachupally PS checked CC Cameras they found the accused persons who were roaming on the stolen bike, waylaid and brought them to Bachupally PS and on interrogation they confessed that they had stolen 6 bikes in the guise of a test ride. As such 6 bikes belonging to Bachupally, Miyapur, Jagadgirigutta and KPHB were recovered.
Accused persons used to see the advertisement in the OLX app and when they found anyone wanted to sell their bikes, they asked them to share the location as they were interested in purchasing the bike. When the said person shares his location, the accused used to go there and meet the said person and take the bike in the guise of a test ride and fled away along with the bike.
