Hyderabad City Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar described late IPS officer Umesh Chandra as a symbol of integrity, honesty and courage, and an outstanding police leader who brought pride to the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh and the nation. Sajjanar praised that Umesh Chandra remained a lasting source of inspiration for the police force and recalled his distinguished service and ultimate sacrifice for the police force and society.
On the occasion of Umesh Chandra’s 27th death anniversary, Sajjanar paid floral tributes at his statue at SR Nagar Crossroads on Friday. DGP (Operations, Greyhounds and OCTOPUS) Dr. Anil Kumar and members of Umesh Chandra’s family also participated in the program. Sajjanar said he considered it a privilege to have worked with Umesh Chandra, though only for a brief period. He also recalled his close association with Umesh Chandra’s parents, brother and other family members.
The Police Commissioner expressed deep sorrow over the loss of a distinguished police leader who played a pivotal role in maintaining law and order in the erstwhile state of Andhra Pradesh. Sajjanar said the peaceful atmosphere and stable law-and-order situation prevailing in society today were the result of the sacrifices made by martyrs like Umesh Chandra. He called upon police personnel and the public to follow his example of dedication to duty and strive to uphold his ideals.
