Unemployed graduates are raising the slogan “Job notifications first, vote next”, urging political parties to ensure that recruitment notifications are issued before the election notification
metro india news I hyderabad : With two Graduate MLC elections in Telangana expected next year, unemployed youth and graduate voters are stepping up pressure on political parties, demanding that pending government job notifications be issued before the election process begins. The voter registration process for the Hyderabad-Khammam Graduate MLC constituencies has already started, while the ruling Congress has announced its candidates. The BRS and BJP are expected to announce their candidates soon.
Unemployed graduates are raising the slogan “Job notifications first, vote next”, urging political parties to ensure that recruitment notifications are issued before the election notification and Model Code of Conduct come into force. Youth groups are demanding notifications for recruitment to various posts, including Gurukula institutions, Model Schools, DSC, Group-I, II, III and IV services, degree lecturer posts, and teaching and non-teaching vacancies in universities.
The graduates have also warned that they will launch a phased agitation if their demands are not addressed. They argue that political parties frequently make promises on employment during elections but fail to fulfill them after coming to power. The issue gained attention recently when unemployed youth questioned MLC Prof. Kodandaram at the Somajiguda Press Club over the age limit for police recruitment. Following the demand for an increase in the upper age limit, the government subsequently issued orders raising the limit during the Assembly session.
Unemployed groups say they intend to scrutinize the employment records and promises of all major political parties, including the Congress, BRS and BJP, and use their votes to express their views. With thousands of graduates awaiting recruitment opportunities, youth organizations are preparing for a series of protests to press their demands. A proposed protest near the Chief Minister’s residence was reportedly postponed to November 6, while rallies and demonstrations in areas including Dilsukhnagar and Ashok Nagar are expected to be organized in phases.
