As per report, Rani Mukerji, Vikrant Massey are strong contenders for Best Actress and Best Actor at the 71st National Film Awards

Due to the pandemic, the National Film Awards had been delayed. In 2024, movies released in 2022 were given the awards, and now, this year, the films that were released in 2023 will be honoured. The date for the announcement of the 71st National Film Awards has not yet been revealed as of going to print, but could be out soon.

A source told the portal, “Vikrant Massey’s performance in 12th Fail is getting him the National Award. It is final. For the National Award for Best Actress, Rani Mukerji is a very strong contender. There are two actresses from the South also in the reckoning. But for Best Actor, it is Vikrant.” Vikrant in 12th Fail and Rani in Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway have surely given one of the best performances of their career. 

They have already won multiple awards for their fantastic performance, and now, if they win the National Award, it will be just perfect. Rani, who has been in the industry for more than 25 years, has given some fantastic performances in movies like Black, No One Killed Jessica, Mardaani, Hichki, and others. 

But, till now, she has not won a National Award. So, if she wins a National Award for Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway, it is something that the actress truly deserves. Meanwhile, Vikrant in 12th Fail surprised one and all with his performance. He was simply excellent, so if he gets the National Award for Best Actor, we won’t be surprised.
