Former Minister and BRS MLA Talasani Srinivas Yadav has intensified his stance against the Congress government, stating that the protest for establishing a separate Secunderabad Municipal Corporation will persist until their demand is met.

He emphasised that police actions and arrests would not hinder the movement.

During a press conference at his office in West Marredpally on Sunday, Srinivas Yadav mentioned that the police, who had initially approved a peaceful rally, unexpectedly revoked the permission late at night. Despite the police’s attempts to disrupt the protest through arrests and intimidation, he asserted that such actions only bolstered their determination.

Srinivas Yadav highlighted Secunderabad's 220-year-old rich heritage and history, underscoring its importance to their identity and self-respect. He expressed their commitment to fighting against the government's attempts to merge Secunderabad with Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation, stating, “We will not back down.” He shared videos showcasing police brutality during the rally.

The BRS MLA criticised the Revanth Reddy government for its arbitrary decisions and Tughlaq-style governance, pointing out the inconsistency of forming the Malkajgiri Corporation while neglecting Secunderabad’s municipal needs. He lambasted the Congress for its inaction over the past two years and for failing to prioritise the State’s development.

Srinivas Yadav announced plans for a larger rally with thousands expected to participate in the first week of February, contingent upon obtaining necessary court permissions. He called on like-minded parties and organisations to join the cause, stressing that the government's intimidation would not dissuade them.
