Yug Tulsi Party president K. Shiv Kumar has sharply criticised Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for rejecting the demand to declare Gomata (Mother Cow) as Rashtramata (National Mother), calling the CM’s statement deeply hurtful to the sentiments of millions of cow devotees across the country.
Taking strong exception to Yogi Adityanath’s reported comment — “Does a son ever ask others to honor his mother?” — Shiv Kumar said the remark trivializes a serious issue concerning the protection of cows. He accused the Chief Minister of offering only rhetorical homage while failing to provide concrete legal safeguards.
Shiv Kumar questioned why, despite widespread support for the move, both the Central and state governments continue to drag their feet. He noted that the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Board itself passed a resolution, revered Shankaracharyas, Peethadheeshwars, and Jagadgurus have endorsed it, and even the Allahabad High Court has suggested declaring the cow as Rashtramata. Describing the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections as far more than a contest for political power, Shiv Kumar framed it as a “great war” between the mother (Gaumata) seeking her legal rights and the “sons” (rulers) accused of ignoring her protection.
He said political leaders must stop exploiting the slogan “Gomata is our mother, a bond of many births” merely to seek votes on election platforms. Instead, they should demonstrate their commitment by enacting strong laws. Shiv Kumar recalled that the spark for Hindu awakening and Gau-chetana (cow consciousness) was ignited from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s parliamentary constituency of Varanasi (Kashi). The party now intends to spread this movement across the entire state of Uttar Pradesh.
Shiv Kumar appealed to all Gau-bhakts Dharma-rakshaks (defenders of faith), and Sanatanis across the country, especially in the two Telugu-speaking states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, to extend full support and blessings to the Yug Tulsi Party in this “Sanatan Dharmayuddha
