From tomorrow, for nine days, large-scale participation of players and sports lovers in the National Sports day Festival should be ensured, directed State Sports and Youth Services Minister Vakiti Srihari to the officials of the Sports Department. Today, at the Secretariat, he held a review meeting on the Sports Department along with Chairman sports authority of Telangana Shivasena Reddy.
Speaking on the occasion, he said the government had decided to organize the National Sports Festival for nine days with great enthusiasm, in a way that no other state has done. Accordingly, he instructed officials to take measures to ensure everyone participates in these celebrations. He further suggested that the Telangana government’s Sports Policy should be widely publicized through various programs so that it reaches society.
He emphasized that during these nine days, voluntary organizations, educational institutions, athletes, sports lovers, youth, and students should participate in large numbers. He also directed that the National Sports Day celebrations should be held grandly in all districts.
Highlighting the state government’s commitment to prioritizing rural sports infrastructure, he asked officials to work accordingly. He instructed that academies and sports schools under the Telangana Sports Authority be strengthened, and that talented athletes among the regular trainees in sports grounds should be identified and encouraged.
He said that for strengthening sports, the number of PETs, physical directors, and coaches must be increased. Coordinated efforts between the Sports Department and the Education Department are needed to promote sports development step by step from the rural level, he added. Chairman Shivasena Reddy, Sports Authority MD Dr. Soni Baladevi, Deputy Directors Chandar Reddy, Ravinder, Anitha, Padmavathi, engineer Ashok kumar, PRO suresh kaleru were presence in the meeting.
