The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) apprehended Sub-Inspector Rajesh of Tekmal police station after he tried to flee upon accepting a bribe at Tekmal mandal headquarters on Tuesday. The arrest came following a complaint from a local resident who alleged that the SI demanded Rs 20,000 from him.

As Rajesh accepted the money, ACB officials arrived at the scene, prompting him to dash into nearby agricultural fields. Officers pursued him for nearly 500 metres before apprehending him. A large crowd gathered to witness the chase.

Villagers in Tekmal celebrated the arrest by bursting crackers, claiming that the SI had harassed them over minor issues in the past. Rajesh was subsequently taken to the police station by the ACB, and further investigations are underway.
