ACP cautions against selling fake seeds

Assistant Commissioner of Police of Mancherial R Prakash cautioned on Thursday against selling fake seeds and fertilizers. Speaking at an awareness meeting of seeds and fertilizers dealers in Mancherial division held at Gudipet village of Hajipur mandal, ACP Prakash made it clear that dealers need to have their licenses as well as registers relating to the stock details and bill books of seeds, pesticides and fertilizers with them always. He also clarified that the buyer’s signature needs to be taken on every bill and no item should be sold beyond MRP.

He mentioned that there should be no difference between the physical stock and that in the registers and made it clear that strict action would be taken against those selling expired or counterfeit items. ACP Prakash also instructed the dealers to get stock registers and bill books attested by Mandal Agriculture Officer (MAO) and submit stock reports to MAO office once in 15 days. He explained to them the various laws under which action would be taken against sellers as well as manufacturers of fake seeds. District Agriculture Officer Surekha, CI Ramanamurthy, Hajipur SI Kiran Kumar and other officials of police and agriculture participated in this event.
