60-day jail term for harassing elderly parents

A local court in Narayanguda sentenced a 44-year-old man to 60 days of imprisonment for allegedly harassing and ill-treating his elderly parents. According to police, the accused, G. Srinivas, had been repeatedly troubling his aged parents, following which a complaint was lodged at Narayanguda Police Station. A case was registered under Section 70B of the City Police Act and Section 115(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

After investigation, Sub-Inspector J. Srikanth Reddy filed the case before the V Special Judicial Magistrate Court at Nampally. Based on the evidence presented in STC No. 1780/2026, the court found the accused guilty and sentenced him to two months in jail along with a fine of ₹50. Police reiterated their commitment to protecting senior citizens and warned of strict action against those harassing or neglecting elderly parents.
