Andhra Pradesh Government appoints advisors

In a bid to strengthen policy-making and sectoral development, the Andhra Pradesh government is continuing its appointment of advisors across various government departments. The latest addition to this initiative is Suchitra Ella, Managing Director of Bharat Biotech, who has been appointed as the Honorary Advisor for Handloom and Handicrafts Development.

The State Chief Secretary, Vijayanand, issued official orders confirming the appointment. As per the government directive, Suchitra Ella will serve in this advisory role for a period of two years with cabinet rank status. The government has emphasized that her expertise will be instrumental in shaping policies and strategies for the development and promotion of handloom and handicrafts in the state.

Apart from the handloom sector, the government has also appointed top experts as advisors in critical fields. Dr. G. Satheesh Reddy, former Chief of DRDO, has been named Honorary Advisor for Aerospace and Defense Manufacturing Hub. KPC Gandhi, a forensic expert, has been appointed as Honorary Advisor for the Andhra Pradesh Forensic Science Laboratory. Sreedhara Panikkar Somanath, a senior scientist and space technology expert, has been designated as Honorary Advisor for AP Space Technology.

The Chief Secretary has issued official orders for these appointments, emphasizing that these eminent individuals will provide valuable insights to drive innovation, enhance industrial growth, and improve governance in their respective domains. The state government aims to leverage their expertise to strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s standing in handloom, aerospace, defense, forensic science, and space technology.
