Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan said in the Assembly on Thursday that Jana Sena party fully supports Rajiv Ranjan Mishra's report regarding the issue of Scheduled Caste (SC) categorization. The Deputy CM informed the house that discussions were held with intellectuals on the issue, unity of Mala and Madiga castes was also spoken about by many people and also there were extensive discussions on the issue of providing reservation to these two castes as well as sub-castes.
Pawan Kalyan explained that the government had studied and talked to Relli, Bedabudaga Jangalas and Yanadi communities. He stated that it was because of Mandakrishna Madiga that the SC categorization movement has come so far because of it and it was CM Chandrababu Naidu who took it forward. Pawan Kalyan congratulated Mandakrishna Madiga on this occasion and said that he brought self-respect to the Madiga community. Pawan Kalyan said that madigas are more in Telangana and malas are more in AP.
"The Chief Minister had constituted a one-man commission (Rajiv Ranjan Mishra commission) and a committee of ministers in a period of 4 months. Rajiv Ranjan Mishra has said that there are 46 sub-castes between 100 and 10,000 people. The commission has done a thorough study on the economic, political, social backwardness of SCs." the Deputy CM said and praised Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Prime Minister Modi for facilitating the categorization. Similarly, Pawan Kalyan suggested that justice should also be done to the Beda, Budaga Jangalas and Relli castes.
