Annapurna Studios, led by actor Nagarjuna Akkineni, has onboarded internationally acclaimed senior colorist Andreas Brueckl, further strengthening its creative and technical capabilities. Brueckl, one of Asia’s most respected colorists, joins the studio’s core creative team under the leadership of CTO CV Rao.

With over two decades of experience across Europe and Asia, Andreas Brueckl has an extensive portfolio spanning high-end feature films, premium OTT series and international commercial campaigns. He is widely recognised as a pioneer in modern colour grading workflows and was the first colorist to introduce and implement ACES (Academy Color Encoding System) at scale in Asia. He also graded India’s first HDR Dolby Vision feature film for Netflix and played a key role in establishing scene-referred colour grading and contemporary HDR pipelines for long-form storytelling.

Known for his refined cinematic sensibility, Brueckl’s work reflects a deep understanding of cameras, lenses and lighting. His acclaimed projects include Paatal Lok, Jailer, Sacred Games, Maidaan, Delhi Crime and Daaku Maharaj. Many of his visual approaches went on to influence industry-wide trends, with collaborations extending to Los Angeles, Europe and the Middle East.

The addition of Andreas Brueckl marks a significant step in Annapurna Studios’ vision to become a global hub for premium Indian and international productions. As the studio celebrates 50 years of cinematic legacy, his presence reinforces its commitment to world-class visual craftsmanship and advanced imaging workflows.

Welcoming him, Executive Director Supriya Yarlagadda said the studio is committed to working with the finest talent to achieve creative excellence. CTO CV Rao noted that Brueckl’s global experience will bring valuable perspectives and further expand the studio’s creative vision.
