Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has reaffirmed his government’s bold vision to ensure that “no poor family remains homeless by 2029.” Declaring that “a house is not just four walls, it is a symbol of dignity, safety, and identity,” the Chief Minister launched the mass Gruha Pravesam programme for three lakh beneficiaries across the state on Wednesday.

Participating in the housewarming ceremony of beneficiaries Hemalatha and Sheikh Mumtaz Begum at Devagudipalli village in Chinnamandem mandal, Naidu personally handed over house keys, along with ceiling fans and bulbs as symbolic gifts of comfort and progress. He also interacted with beneficiaries and reviewed groundwater development stalls set up at the venue.

At a massive public meeting later in Rayachoti, the Chief Minister reiterated that the TDP-led alliance government’s mission is to make home ownership universal by 2029. “The Telugu Desam Party was born with the slogan ‘Food, Clothing, and Shelter’. NTR garu was the first leader who dreamt of providing pucca houses for the poor and we are carrying that vision forward,” Naidu declared to loud cheers.

Naidu announced that another 5.9 lakh houses would be ready and handed over by Ugadi 2026, underscoring that the current government represents a people’s government working to deliver justice to the poor.

Launching a scathing attack on the previous administration, Naidu alleged that the housing sector was left in tatters. “They promised homes to the poor but delivered only empty words. They even cancelled 4.73 lakh sanctioned houses and withheld Rs 900 crore due to 2.73 lakh self-constructed home beneficiaries. We will repay that amount,” he assured. He accused the former government of allotting rocky and remote lands in the name of housing sites, while looting crores in the name of leveling.

Reiterating his vision of self-reliance, Naidu said, “Every household must produce an entrepreneur, not just employees.” He highlighted the launch of MSME parks in Kanigiri and announced plans to set up similar parks in every constituency, especially to empower DWCRA women who have collectively repaid Rs 50,000 crore in loans.

Naidu unveiled key sops for housing beneficiaries, besides the Central aid of Rs 2.5 lakh in urban areas and Rs 2 lakh in rural regions, the state will offer Rs 50,000 extra for BCs, SCs, and now Muslims, and Rs 75,000 for STs. This initiative, benefiting around six lakh families, will cost the government Rs 3,220 crore.

He further promised solar power systems for every home, free for SC/STs and subsidized for BCs, along with internet connectivity. Under Deepam 2.0, each household will receive three free LPG cylinders annually.

Naidu assured that every home in the state will soon have tap water under the Jal Jeevan Mission, including the drought-prone Pulivendula region. He concluded with a call to strengthen joint families and announced plans to build affordable apartments in urban areas.
