The Andhra Pradesh High Court took a stern stance against illegal constructions at Bheemili Beach, declaring them a violation of Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) norms. The court expressed strong disapproval over unauthorized developments along the shoreline and specifically reprimanded a company in which Neha Reddy, daughter of former YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader V. Vijayasai Reddy, is a business partner.

During the hearing, the court criticized the removal of a beachside wall without addressing the six-foot-deep foundation left behind. It emphasized that such negligence posed environmental and structural risks. To assess the damage caused by the demolition, the court directed the formation of a committee comprising officials from the Union Ministry of Environment and Forests.

In a significant directive, the court ordered that the costs incurred in demolishing the wall, along with compensation for environmental damage, be recovered from Neha Reddy’s company. Furthermore, it instructed authorities to lodge a police complaint against the firm, paving the way for potential criminal proceedings. The court adjourned the next hearing for three weeks, signaling that further scrutiny of the case would continue.
