In a significant step toward promoting liver health and early detection of liver diseases, Aster Prime Hospital has launched Liver Care and Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) clinics on Global Fatty Liver Day.
The initiative comes in response to the alarming rise in Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD), which now affects nearly one-third of the adult population in India.
Dr. Srujan Kumar B, General Surgeon, comment that Fatty Liver is often called a ‘silent disease,’ because it typically shows no symptoms in its early stages but can lead to serious complications such as cirrhosis, liver failure, and even liver cancer if left undiagnosed.
Dr. Chetan Mahajan, Senior Surgical Gastroenterologist also said that The Global Fatty Liver Day 2025 theme is ‘Elevating Liver Health in the Metabolic Health Conversation’, which is important in considering liver health alongside other metabolic health issues like obesity and diabetes.
The Liver Care Clinic will function every Monday and Thursday, while the IBD Clinic will be available on Tuesdays and Fridays. These clinics are designed to offer comprehensive care, combining diagnostics, medical and surgical consultations, dietary advice, and mental health support.
To mark the launch, Aster Prime is offering special diagnostic packages and discounts valid until August 31, 2025.
