Autism conference calls for awareness, inclusion and government support

In a significant initiative aimed at promoting awareness, acceptance and inclusion for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Dr. Kiron Autism Mission organized a state-level conference on ASD titled “Autism and Beyond – Navigating the Spectrum of Possibilities” at the Brahma Kumaris Global Peace Auditorium, Gachibowli on Sunday. The event was graced by guests including M. Murali Mohan, Actor, Producer, Politician and Philanthropist; Raja Ravindra, Actor and Producer; Dr. V. Sravan Reddy, Deputy Director, NIEPID, Secunderabad; and Dr. Shilpi Reddy, renowned gynecologist.

Addressing the gathering, Lion Dr. Y. Kiron, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Bulgaria, CEO of Suchirindia Group and Founder of Dr. Kiron Autism Mission said that throughout his life he had learned many valuable lessons, and that veteran actor and philanthropist Murali Mohan had been a major inspiration to him in both business and philanthropy. He advocated the establishment of Child Development Centers at the mandal level so that economically disadvantaged families affected by autism can access timely diagnosis, therapy and support services.

Speaking on the occasion, veteran actor and former parliamentarian M. Murali Mohan praised Dr. Kiron’s long-standing commitment to social causes. Describing autism as one of life’s most challenging realities, Murali Mohan stressed that awareness, patience, acceptance and equal opportunities can make a tremendous difference in the lives of children with autism.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. V. Sravan Reddy, Deputy Director, NIEPID, Secunderabad, emphasized the importance of early screening, timely intervention and community-based support systems for children with developmental disorders. He also highlighted the need for greater collaboration among parents, educators, healthcare professionals and policymakers to build a comprehensive support ecosystem for individuals with autism.

The conference forms part of the broader vision of Dr. Kiron Autism Mission, an initiative dedicated to creating sustained awareness about autism.Parents were provided opportunities to directly interact with experts, seek guidance and learn about available support mechanisms and resources.
