A fast track court of Rangareddy district on Friday sentenced 45-year-old auto driver to undergo ten years rigorous imprisonment in the rape case of a minor girl reported at Pahadishareef in 2021.

The convict Syed Haji Ali, an auto driver from Shaheen Nagar in Balapur had confined, raped and threatened the girl, who is the daughter of his friend.

The accused has been sentenced to ten years rigorous imprisonment under the POCSO Act. An incident occurred in the Pahadishareef police station area where a man temporarily entrusted the care of his daughter to his friend for a few days due to his illness. The friend, out of treachery, spoke deceitfully to the minor girl, behaved indecently towards her, and sexually assaulted her.

Based on the girl’s complaint, the Pahadishareef police booked a case and arrested Syed Haji Ali. In this case, apart from the accused was sentenced to ten years rigorous imprisonment, also a fine of Rs 15,000 imposed and the victim was given a compensation of Rs 5,00,000. Additional Public Prosecutors Sunitha and D Raghu argued the case.
