On Day 3 of his Singapore tour, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and his son Nara Lokesh, Minister for IT led multiple meetings and MoU signings to position the state as a hub for technology, electronics, semiconductors, and the creator economy.
Lokesh and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu met senior ministers and corporate leaders to attract investments and extend invitations to Andhra Pradesh. The state signed an MoU with YouTube and Tezaract USA Inc. to establish a ‘Creator Academy’ focused on digital content skills. YouTube will provide curriculum support, while Tezaract handles infrastructure. Lokesh said the initiative would empower youth and make Andhra a digital leader.
In talks with Google Cloud’s Drew Brains, Lokesh urged faster execution of the Visakhapatnam Data Center and proposed a chip design center on-site. He highlighted Andhra’s port and air connectivity for a server supply chain base.
He also met Carrier Executive Director Arun Bhatia to explore green HVAC systems for smart cities and cold chain logistics for agriculture and pharma in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.
With ST Telemedia’s India Head Ritu Mehlaavat, Lokesh discussed a green energy-powered hyperscale data center in Visakhapatnam. STT, with 30 data centers in India, aims to expand further.
At a business roundtable, Lokesh pitched Andhra as a gateway to Asia with strong infrastructure, skilled talent, and pro-investor policies, emphasizing opportunities in IT, semiconductors, AI, and electronics.
Naidu met AI Singapore’s Mohan Kankanhalli to propose AI Research and Innovation Centers across the state, inviting collaboration on training, exchange programs, and skill development. “We aim to make Andhra an AI powerhouse,” he said.
Naidu also met SIA Engineering’s NG John Lin Wilin, seeking collaboration on MRO centers in Visakhapatnam and Krishnapatnam and pitching upcoming airport projects under new industrial policies. The company plans to send a delegation to explore opportunities.
Singapore’s Minister Tan See Leng expressed readiness to re-engage with Andhra Pradesh, particularly in reviving Amaravati. He acknowledged past political disruptions but emphasized renewed interest in collaborating on agriculture, energy, ports, and digital tech.
Naidu thanked Tan and said the renewed partnership would bring tangible benefits.
Naidu also met executives from Keppel Corporation, GIC, and Wilmar International. At a roundtable with 41 leading Singaporean firms, he promoted Visakhapatnam as a hub for IT and data center investment. He noted progress on Google’s Vizag data center and expansion plans by TCS and Cognizant. He invited investment in the upcoming Quantum Valley project in Amaravati, set to launch by January 2026.
“Andhra has the talent, vision, and leadership to match global investment,” Naidu said.
The day concluded with a high-level meeting between Naidu and Singapore President Tharman Shanmugaratnam to discuss future cooperation.
