Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has turned the spotlight on his home turf, unveiling an ambitious plan to transform Kuppam into a major industrial and economic hub. Taking a decisive step toward regional development, he virtually laid the foundation stones for seven major industries, bringing in investments worth Rs 2,203 crore and promising over 22,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities.
The state government has earmarked 241 acres for these new projects, which include some of India’s leading industrial players. Among them, Hindalco Industries of the Aditya Birla Group will set up a tech components manufacturing unit for mobile and laptop parts with an investment of Rs 586 crore. Sreeja Dairy will establish an integrated dairy and cattle feed plant with Rs 290 crore, while Ace International plans to develop a Rs 525 crore greenfield dairy complex. SVF Soya is setting up a Rs 373 crore edible oil production unit, and Mother Dairy will invest Rs 260 crore in a fruit juice processing unit.
In addition, E-Rise EV will build a Rs 200 crore electric vehicle manufacturing plant, and Alip Enterprises will invest Rs 27 crore to create a special industrial park for women entrepreneurs.
Highlighting his vision, Chandrababu said, “Kuppam, once an underdeveloped region, will soon emerge as an industrial powerhouse.” He announced that the government is extending full support to industries through a single-window clearance system and added that plans are underway to establish Space City, Drone City, and Aerospace City in the near future.
Emphasizing inclusive growth, the Chief Minister said the new projects will also benefit local farmers and women’s groups. Dairy and agro-processing units will source milk, fruits, and crops from local producers, ensuring fair prices and steady incomes. The women’s industrial park, named ‘Mahila Shakti Bhavan’, will provide training and jobs to 4,000 women, while DWCRA and MEPMA networks will help train one lakh women as entrepreneurs this year.
In a forward-looking note, Chandrababu revealed that eight more companies are set to invest Rs 6,339 crore in Kuppam soon, creating another 43,000 jobs in sectors like battery technology, medical devices, and food logistics.
He reaffirmed his commitment to addressing Kuppam’s water challenges, noting that the Handri-Neeva project now supplies water from 700 km away, ensuring sustainability for agriculture, drinking, and industry.
“Our goal is to synchronize welfare with development and make the ‘Super Six’ promises a super success,” the Chief Minister declared, underscoring his vision of “One Family - One Entrepreneur, One Family - One AI Expert” to drive a new era of growth in Andhra Pradesh.
