AICWA demands immediate suspension of Diljit Dosanjh’s social media accounts in India
FWICE objects to Diljit’s casting in Border 2
The FWICE has objected to the casting of Diljit Dosanjh in Border 2 as the actor faces a controversy over his latest film Sardaar Ji 3, which features Pakistani actor Hania Aamir.
In a letter, sent to Border 2 producers on Tuesday evening, the FWICE said it is “deeply disappointed and concerned” by the casting of Dosanjh in the movie. “This casting decision is in blatant violation of FWICE’s official directive to boycott Mr. Diljit Dosanjh, which was issued after his unpatriotic act of working with a Pakistani actress, Ms. Hania Aamir, in the film Sardaar Ji 3. “By choosing to collaborate with an artist who has so brazenly ignored the ongoing tensions and national sentiment, your production has directly undermined the stand taken by the lndian film industry in solidarity with the nation,” read the letter.

The controversy surrounding Diljit Dosanjh and his upcoming film is catching fire at a brisk pace. After slamming the actor-singer, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA), has now demanded the immediate suspension of all social media accounts of him in India.
In a letter addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, AICWA has also demanded removal of all his songs and movies from platforms like YouTube, Spotify, JioSaavn & OTT platforms, permanent ban on his live concerts and public performances across India.
The association has also called for full investigation into the funding of Sardaar Ji 3, and nationwide ban on its release. They have also appealed to the Chairman of CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) to reject certification of all future films involving Diljit Dosanjh and to boycott him completely from Indian cinema. Earlier, Suresh Shyamlal Gupta, the president of the All Indian Cine Workers Association had issued a statement calling for nationwide boycott of the film.
Disheartening and unfair, says Diljit’s manager
Diljit Dosanjh’s manager, Sonali Singh, shared a long note highlighting the ongoing criticism against the singer-actor for collaborating with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in his upcoming film Sardaar Ji 3.
Diljit Dosanjh is facing a massive backlash from social media, the music fraternity and Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) for working with actress Aamir amid the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan.
In a long note titled ‘Always choosing love over hate,’ Diljit’s Manager, Sonali, wrote that the recent criticism surrounding the Punjabi film Sardaar Ji 3 is both “disheartening” and “unfair.” “This recent wave of criticism surrounding his upcoming Punjabi film Sardaar Ji, due to the presence of a Pakistani co-star, is both disheartening and unfair, especially considering the timing and the nature of the project. The film was shot long before the current political climate intensified,” wrote Sonali Singh.
Mika Singh calls Diljit Dosanjh ‘fake singer’ & ‘irresponsible’
Musician Mika Singh called Diljit Dosanjh a “fake singer” and “irresponsible” after the musician collaborated with the Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in his upcoming film Sardaar Ji 3. Taking to his Instagram handle, Mika Singh shared a long note, slamming Diljit for acting “irresponsibly” by releasing content featuring an artist “from across the border.”
Titled ‘Desh Pehle (Nation First)’, the note read, “Guys, as we all know, the relationship between India and Pakistan isn’t going well right now. Yet some people continue to act irresponsibly. Before releasing any content that involves artists from across the border, they should think twice - especially when our nation’s dignity is involved.”
