A delegation of BC leaders, led by Jajula Srinivas Goud, National President of the BC Welfare Association, met with TPCC President B. Mahesh Kumar Goud in Hyderabad on Thursday to acknowledge his efforts toward ensuring social justice within the Congress party.

Srinivas Goud praised Mahesh Goud’s proactive role in advocating for caste-based enumeration and increasing political representation for BCs, SCs, STs, and minorities. He noted that under his leadership, the Congress had assigned over 70% of key positions—including general secretaries and vice presidents—to these marginalized communities, marking a significant shift in party dynamics.

The leaders highlighted recent allocations of MLC and ministerial posts, which were fully granted to SC, ST, and BC representatives, as evidence of the party’s strengthened commitment to inclusivity.

However, concerns were raised regarding the recent appointment of Information Commissioners, in which BC representation was reportedly overlooked. The delegation urged Mahesh Goud to intervene and also requested that BC ministers be assigned influential portfolios to reflect their growing stake in governance. Srinivas Goud further emphasized that continued coordination with senior leaders like Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, and CM Revanth Reddy would be crucial to sustaining this momentum.

Joining the meeting were BC JAC Chairman Ganesh Chari, convenor Balraj Goud, coordinator Uppari Sekhar Sagar, youth leader Kanakala Shyam Kuruma, and other community representatives.
