Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka emphasised that the Dr. MCR HRD Institute ought to be recognised as the premier training institute in the nation. During a meeting of the Governing Body Sub-Committee for the MCRD (Dr. MCR HRD Institute) held on Saturday, Bhatti Vikramarka pointed out that the institution covers 30 acres and is led by a highly qualified former Chief Secretary.
As the Chairman of the Sub-Committee, Bhatti Vikramarka stated that the institute should aim for financial independence and growth to meet the anticipated standards. He also mentioned that all the suggestions made by the ministers during the meeting should be acted upon. Minister Sridhar Babu recommended that officials receive certificates upon completing their AI training.
He also mentioned that college principals should receive training on how to secure National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAC) accreditation. The Minister proposed that two-day training sessions be organised at district and mandal levels for Self-Help Group (SHG) leaders to support their financial growth and promote economic empowerment.
The MCRD has faced neglect for the past decade. Moving forward, the Sub-Committee will convene every six months to assess progress. Officials and staff need to be prepared to embrace the latest global technologies and advancements, Sridhar Babu said. Another Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy stated that staff should be prepared to engage with international organisations like the United Nations when required.
Director General and Vice-Chairperson Shanti Kumari gave a PowerPoint presentation to the Ministers covering various topics, including the history of MCRD, facilities such as the library, auditorium, and hostels, details of MoUs signed with various state governments for training, and budgetary details and future plans. Present at the meeting were Sub-Committee members, including Minister Sridhar Babu, Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat, as well as MCRD Director General and Vice-Chairperson Shanti Kumari.
