Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka affirmed that the administration of the people's government remains steadfast in following the philosophical guidance of Gautama Buddha and B. R. Ambedkar.
He articulated that the ideologies and perspectives of both Buddha and Ambedkar offer solutions to a myriad of societal challenges.
The Deputy Chief Minister addressed participants at a gathering with Buddhist monks from Thailand and India, who are engaged in a padayatra (foot march) aimed at promoting world peace. This meeting took place at Ambedkar Smriti Vanam, situated near Necklace Road. Alongside Bhatti Vikramarka, Labour Minister Vivek Venkataswamy, Buddha Vanam Project OSD Mallepalli Laxmaiah, and former Chief Secretary Kaki Madhav Rao were also in attendance.
During his remarks, the Deputy Chief Minister highlighted that the state government is placing significant emphasis on the Buddha Vanam initiative. To support this endeavor, funds have been allocated, and Mallepalli Laxmaiah has been designated as OSD to supervise all related governmental activities.
He praised the Buddha Vanam project, located near Nagarjuna Sagar, as truly impressive. The government has undertaken this project with considerable prestige, affirming that visiting the site fosters a sense of mental tranquility. All necessary provisions for the Buddhist community have been implemented by the government, he noted.
Describing Buddha Vanam as a premier spiritual and tourism destination, he remarked on the exceptionally serene environment and the comprehensive facilities available for both Buddhist monks and visitors.
Bhatti Vikramarka also informed the audience that 70 Buddhist monks from Thailand and 30 Indian Buddhist monks embarked on their padayatra on February 2 from Kalaburagi in Karnataka, which will continue until March 1, culminating at Buddha Vanam in Nagarjuna Sagar.
