57th birthday of Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati celebrated grandly

The 57th birthday of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Shri Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati, Peethadhishwar of Jyotishpeeth, was celebrated with religious fervor on Friday at Shri Vidya Math, located at Kashi Shankaracharya Ghat. 

The celebrations began with a traditional Rudrabhishek performed by Vedic scholars at Shri Vidya Math. Following the ceremony, devotees, led by Brahmachari Paramatmanand, in-charge of Shri Vidya Math, offered flowers and garlands to portraits of Dharmasamrat Karpatri Ji Maharaj and Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati.

According to Sanjay Pandey, media in-charge of the Shankaracharya, the birthday was also celebrated at Sapad Laksheshwar Dham in Saldha, Bemetara district of Chhattisgarh, where the Shankaracharya is currently observing his Chaturmasya religious observance. Devotees performed a special offering consisting of 57 items, corresponding to the Shankaracharya's 57th birthday.

A traditional tuladaan ceremony was also conducted using fruits, grains, sweets, rabri and dry fruits. Religious programs were also organized at Jyotirmath in Badrikashram under the guidance of Swami Pratyakchaitanya Mukundanand Giri, in-charge of the Jyotirmath, with prayers for the Shankaracharya's long and healthy life.
