In a swift operation, the Bollarum police on Monday arrested three persons, including two juveniles, who were involved in mobile phone snatching incidents reported in Secunderabad. According to the police, the trio identified as Derangula Ravi alias Gaja (24), and his two juvenile associates aged 15 and 17 years, moved around the city and snatched mobile phones from people. Ravi was involved in 51 property offences reported in the city.

Police received a complaint on June 27 from a cab driver, Chiluka Sujith, who reported that his Redmi mobile phone was snatched by three individuals on a two-wheeler without number plate while he was at Golnaka bus stop. Based on the complaint, a case was registered and a thorough investigation was done.

Ravi was involved in several cases reported in the city. After his release from prison three weeks ago, he formed a gang with two juveniles and started snatching mobile phones across the city,  said DCP (North) S Rashmi Perumal.
