Renowned Bollywood actor and Buddhist ambassador Gagan Malik, who portrayed Lord Rama in Zee TV’s Ramayan, paid a courtesy visit to Tourism and Culture Minister Jupally Krishna Rao on Monday at the Tourism Plaza in Begumpet.

Gagan Malik was introduced to the minister by Mallepalli Laxmaiah, who currently serves as the Special Officer for the Buddhavanam Project in Nagarjuna Sagar. During the meeting, they discussed efforts to promote the prestigious Buddhavanam across international platforms, attract Buddhist nations to visit the site, and encourage the establishment of their cultural centers within the complex.

One of the highlights of the discussion included plans for an upcoming pilgrimage in October, in which nearly 100 Buddhist monks from Thailand are expected to travel to Buddhavanam via Gulbarga as part of a symbolic foot march.
