Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee Vice President and Sanathnagar Constituency Congress in-charge Dr. Kota Neelima praised the grand celebration of the Bonalu festival at the Ujjaini Mahankali Temple in Secunderabad, calling it a proud reflection of Telangana’s culture and self-respect.

From early Sunday, thousands of devotees gathered to offer Bonam and seek blessings. Traditional dappu beats, spirited Teenmaar dances, and the presence of Pothurajus added vibrancy to the celebrations. Neelima emphasized the deep devotion of Pothurajus, revered as embodiments of Shakti, during the procession.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Endowments Minister Konda Surekha visited the temple, offered pattu vastralu, and prayed for the state's prosperity. On the second day, under the guidance of Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, the sacred Rangam ritual was performed. Devotee Matangi Swarnalatha stood on a raw clay pot and delivered a positive prophecy, stating that the goddess was pleased with the arrangements.

Following the Rangam, the goddess's procession on the Ambari, along with Bali Puja and Gavu Pattadam rituals, was conducted with grandeur. Dr. Neelima extended her heartfelt congratulations to all officials involved and expressed gratitude to CM Revanth Reddy, Ministers Konda Surekha, and Ponnam Prabhakar for their dedicated support and special budget allocation for the festival.
