Bonalu commences, TPCC Vice-President offers special prayers

The Lashkar Bonalu celebrations at the historic Ujjaini Sri Mahankali Temple in Secunderabad commenced on Sunday with religious fervour and devotion. Dr. Kota Neelima, TPCC Vice President and Congress Party In-charge for the Sanathnagar Assembly Constituency, offered the traditional Bonam to Goddess Ujjaini Mahankali at 4:05 a.m., along with the District In-charge Minister Ponnam Prabhakar. She later participated in special rituals and prayers conducted by the temple priests amid the chanting of Vedic hymns and received their blessings.

Praying for the well-being of the people, Dr. Neelima sought the Goddess’s blessings for peace, prosperity, good health, and happiness for every family. She expressed hope that the divine grace of Goddess would continue to protect the people and bring progress and harmony across the State. Dr. Neelima said that Bonalu is one of Telangana’s most revered festivals and a proud symbol of the State’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage.

She noted that the festival reflects the devotion, traditions, and values of the people while preserving the customs that have been passed down through generations. Later, Dr. Neelima interacted warmly with devotees who had gathered at the temple and reviewed the arrangements made for the Bonalu festivities.
