Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University celebrated Telangana State Formation Day at its campus on Tuesday. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ghanta Chakrapani hoisted the national flag, paying tribute to the martyrs of the Telangana movement and extending greetings to the university community.
Highlighting the university's social commitment, Prof. Chakrapani emphasized the ongoing Equal Opportunity Plan. This initiative provides free higher education to tribal children from backward communities, including the Gond, Koya, and Chenchu tribes.
Looking ahead, the Vice-Chancellor announced key developmental updates. The university is set to sign Memorandums of Understanding with the State Government to launch artificial intelligence training programs specifically for government teachers. Additionally, construction of the new District Resource Centre building, funded under the central PM-USHA scheme, is nearing completion.
The celebration was attended by Registrar Dr. L. Vijaya Krishna Reddy, alongside university directors, deans, heads of branches, and representatives of the teaching, non-teaching, and service associations.
