TG CM criticizes BRS for adopting RSS ideology; highlights Congress’s commitment to nation-building

Metro India News | Hyderabad

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy strongly criticized the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), accusing the party of aligning with RSS ideology and undermining democratic values.

Talking to reporters after the inauguration of the new All India Congress Committee (AICC) office in Delhi, the Chief Minister labeled BRS as "BRSS," claiming the party has shifted its stance to mirror the RSS and BJP’s strategies across the country.

Revanth Reddy expressed that BRS has no lessons to offer Congress in governance or ideology. He alleged that BRS, in collaboration with police forces, had attacked Congress offices during the previous government’s tenure, a tactic that Congress does not condone or engage in.

“Congress stands for law and justice, ensuring that the rule of law is upheld in Telangana. Unlike BRS, we do not resort to violence or intimidation,” said the CM.

He reiterated Congress's ideological differences with the RSS, pointing out that the RSS did not participate in India’s freedom struggle. Quoting Rahul Gandhi, he emphasized, “Congress leaders made sacrifices to achieve independence and continue to work toward progress, while RSS and its leaders, including Mohan Bhagwat, have distanced themselves from these historic efforts.”

The Chief Minister called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to clarify whether he supports Mohan Bhagwat’s stance or the sacrifices made by millions for the country’s freedom. He demanded legal action against individuals making statements against India’s freedom struggle and criticized BJP leaders for attempting to downplay the significance of Congress’s role in securing independence.

Congress’s vision for India’s progress

Speaking to reporters, CM Revanth Reddy highlighted the importance of the newly inaugurated AICC office as a platform for shaping the country’s future. “This office will serve as a hub for developing plans to make India a stronger, more inclusive and progressive nation,” he stated.

The CM underscored Congress’s legacy in framing the Indian Constitution through Babasaheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and its unwavering commitment to the welfare of tribals, dalits, minorities, and weaker sections. He contrasted the 140-year-old Congress party’s selfless service with the financial strategies of newer parties like BJP.

“This office represents Congress’s dedication to the country. It stands as a testament to our sacrifices and tireless efforts for the nation,” CM said, calling the inauguration a moment of celebration for the people of India.
