As part of the Ashada Bonalu festivities, Minister for IT and Industries Duddilla Sridhar Babu, on behalf of the State government, offered silk clothes to the presiding deity at the historic Sri Akkanna Madanna temple in Haribowli, Hyderabad and performed special prayers. The Minister extended warm greetings to the people on the occasion of Ashada Bonalu.

Speaking on the occasion, Sridhar Babu stated that Bonalu is not merely a festival,  it symbolises Telangana’s unique way of life, centuries-old traditions, cultural richness, collective spirit, resilience, unity, self-respect and historical pride.

The celebration of Bonalu reflects the essence of Telangana’s soil, the divine love of the Goddess, and the inner strength of its people. It resonates through the drum beats, devotional offerings, and widespread community participation, Sridhar Babu said. The Minister said the divine mother is regarded as the source of all creation and protector of all universes. Her blessings are invoked for the well-being, happiness, and prosperity of all citizens of Telangana, he said.

"Celebrations like Golconda Bonalu, Secunderabad Bonalu, and Lal Darwaza Bonalu are powerful expressions of Telangana’s folk traditions and are a cultural message to the nation and the world," Sridhar Babu said. The Minister reminded that the State government has allocated Rs.20 crore for the grand conduct of Bonalu festivities across the twin cities and the financial support has been extended to 2,783 temples in the form of direct cheques.

This allocation reflects the people-first governance model led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and highlights the priority given to cultural preservation and heritage promotion, he said. The Minister further stated that offering silk clothes at Sri Akkanna Madanna temple was a rare privilege and a moment of spiritual fulfillment and the temple stands as a symbol of Hyderabad’s historical depth, spiritual significance, and cultural vibrancy.

"The State government remains committed to protecting the faith and traditions of Telangana’s people and will continue to uphold and support these values. With the blessings of the Goddess and under the leadership of the Chief Minister, Telangana is striving to emerge as a national role model, especially in the fields of Information Technology and Industrial development," he added.
