MLA Gandra Satyanarayana Rao has issued a strong warning to officials involved in the paddy procurement process, stating that CEOs will be suspended if procurement centers fail to issue purchase certificates to farmers.

On Wednesday, the MLA along with District Collector Rahul Sharma inspected wet paddy stocks at SM Kothapalli in Bhupalapalli mandal and the Agricultural Market Yard in Chityal mandal headquarters. Speaking on the occasion, MLA Gandra Satyanarayana Rao directed procurement center in-charges to ensure no inconvenience is caused to farmers.

He warned that failure to issue procurement documents immediately would result in strict action against the concerned CEOs. He also cautioned that any collusion between procurement center staff and millers to harass farmers would invite criminal cases. The MLA instructed government administration to increase the number of hamalis at procurement centers, procure wet paddy on priority and transport it to mills immediately and assured that the government stands firmly with farmers and will procure even moisture-affected paddy to ensure justice to them.

District Collector Rahul Sharma urged farmers to remain alert due to unseasonal rains and cover paddy heaps properly with tarpaulins to prevent damage. He announced that farmers can transport wet paddy to mills using their own tractors, and the government will reimburse the transportation charges. He also issued a stern warning that any procurement officials indulging in irregularities or corrupt practices would be immediately suspended and face disciplinary action.
