Pulses prices showed a mixed trend in major spot markets across India on Tuesday, with chana prices rising on lower arrivals, tur declining due to weak demand, and urad remaining largely steady amid a lack of fresh market triggers. Chana prices in Akola, Akola rose by ₹25 per 100 kg to ₹6,075–₹6,100. Traders said supply pressure has eased sharply as arrivals of the rabi crop have fallen.

The government’s cancellation of chana offloading tenders in Gujarat also tightened availability. Market participants noted that a large portion of stocks remains with government agencies and major stockists, limiting open market supply.  Despite firm prices, weak demand capped further gains. Chana prices in Delhi also increased by ₹25 to ₹5,900–₹5,925 per 100 kg. Traders expect prices to remain firm in the coming months as monsoon-led consumption improves and festival demand picks up from August onward.Tur prices, however, softened. In Akola, rates fell by ₹50 to ₹8,050–₹8,075 per 100 kg due to subdued buying.  Prices in Katni also dropped ₹50 to ₹8,150–₹8,250.  Delayed sowing in key producing regions such as Vidarbha and Marathwada has raised production concerns, which may support prices later.
