A powerful series tracing the real-life investigation into Rajiv Gandhi’s assassination, revealing secrets, conspiracies, and pursuit of justice

Sony LIV, in collaboration with Applause Entertainment and Kukunoor Movies, is bringing a gripping new series titled The Hunt: The Rajiv Gandhi Assassination Case to the screen. The show is based on the bestselling book Ninety Days by investigative journalist Anirudhya Mitra.
Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Nagesh Kukunoor, the series explores the investigation into the assassination of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. Co-written by Kukunoor, Rohit Banawalikar, and Sriram Rajan, the show dives into a world of espionage, shifting loyalties, intelligence failures, and the human cost of seeking justice.
The cast includes Amit Sial as D.R. Kaarthikeyan (Chief of the Special Investigation Team), Sahil Vaid as Amit Verma (SP-CBI), Bhagavathi Perumal as Ragothaman (DSP-CBI), Danish Iqbal as Amod Kanth (DIG-CBI), Girish Sharma as Radhavinod Raju (DIG-CBI), and Vidyut Garg as Capt. Ravindran (NSG Commando). The ensemble is further supported by Shafeeq Mustafa, Anjana Balaji, B Sai Dinesh, Shruthy Jayan, Gouri Menon, and others.
Speaking about his role, Amit Sial said, “This isn’t just a crime procedural drama; it’s about how invisible hands shape history.
