Hyderabad: The team of Chikkadpally Police Station, Hyderabad, detected a robbery case and apprehended two accused along with the recovery of stolen property on Friday. Arrested accused were identified as (A-1) Gudipati Bramaiah (51), resident of Borabanda, native of Kongapadu in Prakasam. (A-2) Gudipati Anjali (48), wife of Gudipati Bramaiah. Police have recovered broken gold chain with white and red pearls weighing approximately 4.6 grams, Gold chain (14.354 grams) mortgaged at Manappuram, one paper cutting blade and an OPPO mobile phone from the accused persons possession.
On October 31, Surekha Auradkar (69), was followed and forcibly robbed of her gold chain near her apartment in Chikkadpally, sustaining abrasions on her neck. Acting on credible information, police apprehended A-1 near Sahara Bakery in Ashok Nagar. He confessed to planning the robbery due to financial difficulties and debts for his younger daughter’s marriage. He admitted using masks and a blade while scouting for victims over 15 days. A-1 handed the stolen chain to A-2, who mortgaged it at Manappuram branch in Kukatpally, receiving Rs 1,13,000, partially clearing their debts. Both accused are now in police custody, and further investigation is ongoing.
